1. Competition Teams
Due to the team effort needed in competing, competition cheerleaders are allowed the following absences:
May 5th through August 9th 6 absences
August 11th through last competition 6 absences
*Regardless of the reasoning, exceeding the given number of absences will result in the cheerleader being removed from the team. Save some absences for emergencies!
*Cheerleaders are expected to attend the final practice before every competition in order to qualify to compete at that event.
2. Dancers
*Dancers are encouraged not to miss more than three practices per session.
*Dancers are encouraged to find a friend to learn any missed material before returning to practice.
*Class time will not be used to re-teach material to students who were absent.
3. Senior Dance Team
*Dance Team starts in August.
*Dancers are allowed 4 absences between August 12th and the final performance.
*Upon the 5th absence, the dancer will be removed from the team.
4. Additional Classes
*There is not a set attendance policy for other classes/students, including karate.
*Please find a friend to learn the missed material before returning to practice.
*Class time will not be used to re-teach the missed material.
5. General Attendance Information Pertaining to All Classes/Teams:
*Absences may be for any reason including school functions, sickness, family emergency, other commitments, etc.
*Doctor’s notes are not necessary in the event of sickness or injury. They will not cause your absence to become void. We will gladly file them for you, but they will not cause your absence to become void.
*In the event of an injury or sickness, if the cheerleader is at least able to observe practice, attendance will count.
*If your child is vomiting or has an illness that is contagious, please do NOT bring them to practice. It will count as an absence, but we want to avoid spreading further sickness.
*Be sure to save some absences for unexpected situations/emergencies
*Please fill out the appropriate absence form and place it in your folder to inform us of an upcoming absence. We plan our practices accordingly. Thank you!
